Transfer Your Memories to DVD

Learn more about Mini-DV to DVD Conversion

A DVD will hold 2 hrs. of high quality video. We do not recommend adding more than 2 hrs. of video because the video needs to be compressed which seriously degrades the quality. The final DVD video will be of slightly better quality than the original VHS tape you provide.

Mini DV tapes have several different tape record modes. The vast majority of Mini DV tapes usually run approx. 1 hour. The different record modes make it difficult to combine multiple tapes onto one 2 hour DVD. If you are certain of the length of your video(s) we will combine tapes at an additional charge of $4.99per tape. Please rubber band together the tapes you need combined and affix a note to each tape with the length in hours/minutes.

A basic video transfer to DVD will be in a format best suited for playing on a traditional DVD player attached to a television. We do offer a service that can provide you with digital files that are simple to copy and paste to a computer for your home editing projects. Please click on the .avi/mpeg button for more information.

Your final DVD product will be in consumer grade resolution. Due to the high price and new evolving technology we do not recommend transferring your videos to the new high definition or HD video format. Some newer DVD players will "up-convert" the output signal to 1080p via HDMI cable, but the original DVD will be in standard 720 x 480 resolution.

Our DVD-R discs will play on almost every newer DVD player on the market. Please browse our FAQ page, or feel free to contact us with any additional questions or concerns you may have.
