GOING GREEN AT HOME

Purchase Long-lasting, Durable Items – purchasing higher quality products will help reduce waste and save money down the road rather the continuous repurchasing of disposable ones.

Dishwasher – Always run the dishwasher with a full load because whether is it a full or no, the same amount of water is used. The dishwasher uses 35% less water than if washing buy hands. Also, allowing the dishes to dry by air helps save and additional 15% on energy.

Junk Mail - Request that your name not be sold to mailing list companies. The average American receives an amount of junk mail each year that is equivalent to 1.5 trees.

Turn Lights Off – Turning the lights off when not in a room helps save energy. In the case of leaving lights on when not home or on vacation, use a timer to help control turning on lights at night and off during the day.
